Tax Paid in excess is to be refunded by the Income Tax Department
along with the interest thereon to the assessee. The various

What
if there is a shortfall in Tax Deduction at Source or Advance
Tax Paid?
In
case there is any shortfall in Tax Payable, i.e. Tax Payable
is more than the total of Tax Deducted at service and Advance
Tax Paid, the person has to pay the difference in what is
known as "Self Assessment Tax". There is an amount
of interest which is payable on the shortfall.
Can
I have a proof for filing my Income Tax Returns?
